August 2020 Newsletter

As reported by the Henry County Health Center, there have been several new cases of COVID-19 in our area.  We would just like to remind everyone to abide by the recommended safety precautions and social distancing rule while at the course.

We would like to say ‘Thank You’ to Sherry Crites, Sally Rude, Dean Hargrave, Larry McBride, Annie & Steve King, Elaine & John Bailey, Susan & Jim Sanders, Kim & Mike Mills, Tom Paul, Carol Phillips, Beth Webber, Amy Weaver and Mary Hubbard for their help this past month.

The American Legion Golf Tournament will be on Sunday, August 9th at 8:30am and it is open to the public.  It is a three (3) person scramble, $150 per team.  All proceeds benefit local American Legion Youth and Veterans Programs.

The Appleton City Football Fundraiser Golf Tournament will be on Saturday, August 15th at 12:00pm and it is open to the public.  Course will be closed at 12:00pm.

We would like to remind the Ladies Association members that the Ladies championship will be held on Saturday August 22nd and we hope to see you there.  Course will be open for play.

Friday nights at 6:00pm couples play the front nine.  It is only one dollar per person to play.  Drawing for teams is at 5:45pm.  If you haven’t played on Friday night, come out and join us.  It is a lot of fun.

Congratulations to Jeff Stone for winning the Raffle this year!  We would like to let everyone know how much we appreciate your participation for making this another successful raffle to benefit the improvements to the swimming pool.

Handicaps are updated and posted on the bulletin board on the first and fifteenth each month.  Also, an email is sent from Golf Mobile Network to show your current handicap.  Please review the entered scores. Each person is set up initially in the system with a default tee to make it easier to post scores.  Scores can be posted through November 15th.  If you change your default tee box, have any questions about your handicap or would like to participate in this program, please contact Carol Phillips.

The Me & Mine (Two couples from club) is right around the corner on Saturday, September 5th so find another couple to play and signup for tee times in the clubhouse.

On Sunday, September 6th is the Labor Day Scramble.  You must sign up in the clubhouse by 5:00pm on Saturday to participate as teams will be drawn at that time.

As always, if you have suggestions or ideas for promoting the club and bringing in new members, please contact me at 660-351-2184 and/or contact any board member.
