As winter begins and the weather gets colder, the golf season winds down, but there is still plenty going on at the Club.

Mentioned in the newsletter last month, on Thursday December 6th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Tina Williams is having a Member Appreciation Christmas Party, with free food and a cash bar.  Hope to see you!

On December 8th the Ladies Association

has scheduled their annual Christmas Luncheon.  The menu will be a turkey dinner.  The cost is $9.00 per person.  All lady club members (or non-members) are welcome and encouraged to attend. There is a signup sheet on the bulletin board or call Tina and let her know you will be attending.  Also, there will be a white elephant gift exchange.  So find that gift you would like to pass on and come join in the fun!

On December 8th the entire Club House will be closed for a private Christmas Party after 3:00pm.

Tina now has Gift Certificates available at the bar for Simply Southern Grill & Pub.  If you are looking for a gift that can be used any time during the year this is a great idea!

And, as a reminder, she has a catering menu including Holiday Treats available for all those Christmas events.  No need to cook, just call ahead and order what you would like.

The Club House will be closed on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day December 24th and 25th.

On December 31st, come join in for the New Year’s Party.  Dinner will be served from 6pm to 8pm. This will be a Surf and Turf, but must call to reserve. For only $10.00 per person there will be a DJ beginning at 8pm.  Complimentary champagne at midnight, and Tina will be serving biscuits and gravy at 12am.  Please RSVP at 660-885-2521.

As the year comes to an end, I want to thank those on the board that have helped us make the club through another successful year. The entire Board takes their job seriously and always has the best interest of the Club in mind when making decisions.  Tom Browning and Marty Watson have worked hard to serve the needs of the club for the past three years and I want to say thank you to them. Also, thank you to Rodney and his staff for all the hard work they have done this year to keep the course looking great.

Please join me in welcoming the new members joining the Board, Sherry Crites, Sally Rude and Jack Ehrman. We thank you for your interest to serve on the Board. The Board of Directors would also like to thank Mike Mitchell, Steve King, Jeff Stone, Dean Hargrave and Carol Phillips for all of their help this past month. It is truly appreciated.

At the last board meeting, it was agreed that to continue to maintain the country club a cost of living increase to the annual dues is necessary. The dues will increase by 2.11%.  Overall, this is not going to cover all expenses for the coming year, but is a step in the right direction. Hopefully, you will help along with the board to encourage new members to join our club. Please remember to be kind and make people feel welcome when you see a new face on the course or in the Club. We want them to have a great experience and hopefully they will come back and bring a guest.

I also want to say thank you to all of our members. Your support, attendance and helping out with club projects is greatly appreciated.

Happy Holidays!

Beth Webber, President
