December 2019 Newsletter
As the year 2019 comes to an end, we would like to give a big ‘Thank you’ to Rodney Hunter and his staff for all of the hard work they have done this year to keep the course looking great. Also, we would like to again say thank you to all of the members who have volunteered their time and service to making Clinton Country Club a success. And, last but not least, we would like to thank all of the ladies who have donated their time to plant flowers and maintain our beautiful course landscape. THANK YOU!!!
I want to thank those on the board that have helped us make the club through another successful year. The entire Board takes their job seriously and always has the best interest of the Club in mind when making decisions. Nancy Williams and Jim Munsterman have worked hard to serve the needs of the club and I want to say thank you to them for their past three years on the board. Carol Phillips will continue on the board for the next term and remain the Secretary.
Please join me in welcoming two new members to the Board, Tami Mills and Jack Novacek. We appreciate your interest to serve on the Board, and look forward to seeing you.
On December 7th at 11:30am, the Ladies Association has scheduled their annual Christmas Luncheon at the Clubhouse. The menu will be soup, sandwich and dessert. The cost is $8.00 per person. All lady club members (or non-members) are welcome and encouraged to attend. There is a signup sheet on the bulletin board or call Tina and let her know you will be attending. Also, there will be a white elephant gift exchange. So find that gift you would like to pass on and come join in the fun!
On December 7th the entire Club House will be closed for a private Christmas Party after 1:00pm for the remainder of the evening.
Tina has Gift Certificates available at the bar for Simply Southern Grill & Pub. If you are looking for a gift that can be used any time during the year this is a great idea! And, as a reminder, she has a catering menu including Holiday Treats available for all those Christmas events. Get you orders in soon.
A Ladies Christmas Tea and Cookie Party is scheduled for Wednesday, December 18th. The Cost is $20 and includes lunch and 2 dozen cookies. Reservations are required and payment is due at sign-up. A minimum of 10 ladies is required in order for the event to happen. For information you can contact Tina Williams.
The Club House will be closed on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day December 24th and 25th.
Tina Williams wants everyone to know that there will be a New Year’s Eve Party on the 31st from noon to 6pm.
At the November 11, 2019 meeting of the Board of Directors, a motion was made and approved to change the entire Clubhouse to a NON-SMOKING FACILITY. Since this motion affects all members of Clinton Country Club, Members that own a certificate have the right to vote for or against this proposal. Letters have been mailed, and your response must be returned by December 21st.
At the last board meeting, it was agreed that to continue to maintain the country club, a cost of living increase to the annual dues is necessary. The dues will increase by 2.6%. Overall, this is not going to cover all expenses for the coming year, but is a step in the right direction. Hopefully, you will help along with the board to encourage new members to join our club. Please remember to be kind and make people feel welcome when you see a new face on the course or in the Club. We want them to have a great experience and hopefully they will come back and bring a guest. The 2020 dues will be sent out by the 15th, and if there is a problem with your membership classification please contact Carol Phillips. Membership dues are due by January 31st. An option to spread the dues over nine monthly installments is available for single and full family golf memberships, beginning in January and ending on September 30th. A 10% percent interest charge will occur for this option. Payments not received by the 10th of the following month will be subject to a $10 late charge. Cart shed rental is due and payable in full by January 31st. Monthly club house minimums will begin on February 1st, 2020.
Happy Holidays! Kenny Goth, President
