June 2019 Newsletter
Even though April Showers has lasted through May this year, many of the members have taken advantage of the sunshine! And, the swimming pool is now open.
Thanks to the following members for all of their help this past month: Larry McBride, Steve King, Dean Hargrave, Sally Rude, Sherry Crites, Elaine Stewart, Mike Mitchell, Jane Eyanson, Patsy Beaty and Richard Webber.
We would like to let Beth Webber know how much we appreciate her effort for making this another successful raffle to benefit the swimming pool! A total of $1,460 was collected which will go towards helping to paint the pool next spring. The winner of the raffle was Randy Dixon. Congratulations Randy!
We would like to say thank you to Nancy Williams and Sherry Crites for cleaning and painting the tee marker signs. We are in the process of getting three new advertisers and hope to have them installed shortly. They are Ozark Cars, Oakstar Bank and Munsterman Organic Foods. There are still a couple of markers that we are looking for new names if you have anyone you know who might like to have their name displayed please contact Kenny Goth. The next time you play golf check out our advertisers!
On May 18th, there were 20 participants who played the PGA Championship/Best Ball. The winners were Tom Paul and Sherry Crites with a score of 63. Next, were Amy Weaver and Ron Shanks with a 65, Jack Ehrman and Steve King with a 67, Patty Sutcliffe with a 68 and Craig Propst and Kevin Robbins with a 69. Congratulations to the winners!
There have been some inquiries about the cost increase of drinks at the bar and it was an oversight that this information was not included in a prior newsletter. The House Committee along with the board reviewed current market liquor prices from the distributors. Upon comparison of previous costs, the board approved to increase the cost of drinks effective March 1, 2019.
Tina Williams, Manager of the Simply Southern Grill & Pub would like to say thank you to everyone for a great Memorial Sunday BBQ Blowout! Everyone seemed to enjoy the food! Her and her staff had a great time during the club scramble on Sunday.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE A NEW POLICY EFFECTIVE JUNE 1st: All Grill & Pub tabs must be paid on a weekly basis. Accounts will be put on a hold until previous balances are paid. We are too small of a business to consistently carry over a $1,000 each month in tabs. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
As always, if you have suggestions or ideas for promoting the club and bringing in new members, please contact me at 660-351-2184 and/or contact any board member.
