Golf is beginning to move into the “cold weather mode”. Hopefully, there will be some warm days to play a few rounds yet this fall.
Texas Hold’em started on October 21st. It begins at 6:00 p.m. each Friday through March of next year.
On October 23rd, a membership meeting was held. A large portion of the membership was present to discuss the 2018 annual membership dues and the club’s operating budget, and ask questions of the board. The board of directors explained our efforts to decrease club expenses and increase our current membership numbers. The board has focused on promoting our club this past year, by putting up directional signs, updating events on Facebook and the club’s website. The country club was also featured in KC Metro Golf magazine this year. Unfortunately, our membership has been declining over recent years, as it has with most golf clubs. The board of directors explained the annual dues need to be increased 20% for all types of memberships. But the cart shed dues will not increase for next year.
Three members have volunteered to serve in the (3) Board of Directors vacancies beginning in December 2017. Patsy Beaty has spoken up to serve. Mike Mills is also willing to serve on the board. And Kenny Goth stated he will serve again on the board if no one else volunteers. If anyone else is interested, please let myself or another board member know by Wednesday, November 1st.
The new roof and guttering will be getting put on this month, so some parking areas may not be available to you in order to accommodate the contractor’s equipment. So please watch for taped or roped off areas when you park. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause in advance.
Rodney would also like to thank the individuals who helped out on the course this past month. I apologize for losing Rodney’s list of these individuals who helped out! Anyway, for those Rodney is referring too, (you should know who you are) “Thank you”.
Thanks are also extended to Mickey Powell, Kathy Baker, Patsy Beaty, and Jane Eyanson for painting the shed & fencing, and installing the new directional sign at the corner of Vansant & Hwy 7. Be sure and check it out when you drive by.
