October 2020 Newsletter
As you know, there have been some members who have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The clubhouse was closed for deep cleaning and sanitizing. We would like to remind everyone to abide by the social distancing rules while at the clubhouse. Please be conscious of not touching and/or removing the flagsticks while playing golf. Foam inserts have been placed in the cups. Be safe and have fun!
As we go into the fall season there are still plenty of days to play golf! The following are tournaments and association events that are scheduled for October.
The Ladies Association Banquet is October 7th at 6:00 PM. Sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board. **CANCELLED**
The Men’s Association Banquet is October 8th. There is no golf and the sign-up sheet is in the pro shop.
The Clinton Country Club Men’s Chili Bowl is October 11th and the golf course will be closed. The Warrensburg Men’s Chili Bowl is October 18th. Sign-up sheets are available in the pro shop. **CANCELLED**
The Pumpkin Open is scheduled for October 17th at 1:00 PM and the golf course will be closed. If the tournament is rained out that day, it will be rescheduled for October 24th at 1:00 PM. The tournament is open to the public, so invite your non-member friends to take part in this fun tournament. Remember, it is all about the pumpkin!
Just a reminder that when you have finished playing golf, please put your golf cart away in the cart shed as soon as possible. All carts should be in the cart shed prior to the streetlights coming on in the evening.
The Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournament begins Friday, October 23rd at 6:00 p.m. and will be every Friday night through March 2021. Good Luck to all! ** POSTPONED**
And, on October 31st there will be a Halloween Two Couples Scramble starting at 11:00am. There will be “Big Cups” on each hole. Course will be closed. This tournament is open to the public.
The Board of Directors would like to say thank you to Susan & Jim Sanders, Tami & Mitchell Mills, Larry McBride, Carol Phillips, Ron Cook, Garry Hook, Richard Webber and Jack Nigh.
We are still looking for one member to serve on the 2021 Board of Directors. If you are willing to serve, please contact a Board member to be considered at the next board meeting.
Also, as we go into the last quarter of the year, the Board will start considering next year’s operation budget. This of course takes into account revenue sources and expenses. Dues for next year will be reviewed and all expenses will be studied to see if we can cut any or some out of the budget. If you have any ideas, please let a Board member know so they may be taken into consideration by the directors during a board meeting. Tournaments are one of our good sources for revenue; if you know of any organizations or companies that would like to use our course, please let a board member know so that they can be placed on the spring schedule.
As always, if you have suggestions or ideas for promoting the club and bringing in new members, please contact me at 660-351-2184 and/or contact any board member.
